soften butter quickly

Having a hard time with your stick of butter sliding around on the dish as you try to cut it?  The next time you have a fresh stick of butter, run hot water over the butter dish until it heats up.  Immediately dry and place the stick of butter on the dish, finally placing it in the refrigerator.  This process melts just enough butter on the dish to keep the butter in place each time you use it.

Have you ever needed to soften butter quickly for baking?  Grate the butter on to a warmed dish.  You can also slice the butter and microwave it for a few seconds at a time, making sure you don’t keep it in long enough to melt it.

Each time you unwrap a new stick of butter, store the wrapping in a plastic baggie in the refrigerator.  Use the butter wrappers to butter pans for cooking and baking.

Cutting costs and trying to conserve food?   Then use our secret recipe for doubling the amount of butter you have!  To double your butter, take a stick of butter and begin mixing in ½ a cup of warm water.  Add a little at a time, making sure it mixes well before adding more.  The final result?  One cup of fluffy, delicious butter!
