I’ve heard about them. I’ve seen the commercials. But I never thought in my wildest dreams that a Quizno’s Bread Bowl would be as close to heaven as you can humanly get.
A friend of mine had told me of his first bread bowl experience as if it was his first kiss. His eyes glazed over while describing the bread… the cheese… the soup….
Today, I had my first kiss. At Quiznos. Mwah!
First, they cut out a crusty, fluffy bread bowl. Then they brush on melted garlic butter. As if that weren’t enough, they place sliced cheddar cheese against the walls of the bowl, leaving quite a lot hanging over the side. And then.. sigh…. they put it all under a broiler.
Choices of soup? There were four. My friend had eaten the cheesy potato and said it was excellent. Today we chose the chicken tortilla soup.
My first bite was a spoon full of hot, creamy, chickeny soup with the most wonderful bite of salsa and cumin. My next included part of the cheesy, garlicky, buttery, crusty, fluffy bread. Extraordinary. Is this really a chain restaurant? Are you sure?
Tomorrow, you must go to Quizno’s and get yourself a bowl of heaven. I mean soup. I mean bread. Mwahhhh!

I must say I have never once considered getting a bread bowl at Quiznos because I like their toasted subs way too much but now I am craving one right now. I don’t even usually like soup that much. But you make them sound unbelievably good.

You know what Alesia?? I actually FOUND a quizno’s near my house that still had some… WOW was it good. Of course I didn’t eat for the rest of the day, but I was in HEAVEN during that 20 minutes of bread bowl time!
