Peanut Butter and Coconut? Really?!

coconut peanut butter

Last month I was given the opportunity to try and review the Tropical Traditions Coconut Peanut Butter.  Personally, I am a sucker for natural peanut butter and was intrigued at the thought of adding a coconut flavor.  Coconut and peanut butter?  Does it work?  It sure does for me!

When I took my first bite of this unusual peanut butter blend, I wasn’t quite sure what to think.  But after my second and third bites I was hooked.

How many times have you read a food label and been unable to identify every ingredient listed?  Not with this product.  The label boasts of two ingredients only:  organic peanuts and organic coconut.  What is not to love?

When I come home from work, I am usually starving but need to work out first.   However, I’ve learned that without a bit of protein before my exercise routine I lose less weight and have less energy.  Recently I’ve been eating four teaspoons of this peanut butter before my workout, giving me energy with only 128 calories.  I don’t eat enough protein during the day, making this a good addition to my regular meals.

Did I mention the coconut and peanuts are completely organic?  No fertilizers, pesticides, sweeteners or preservatives.  That’s important to me.  Very important.

My chocolate loving daughter created her own “recipe” with this peanut butter that is simply delicious.  She rolls the coconut peanut butter into balls and dips them in dark chocolate she melted in the microwave.  I enjoy one or two right out of the freezer while she lets them sit at room temperature before she indulges.
